Neuroblastoma is a solid tumor cancer of the sympathetic nervous system. It is the most common form of cancer in infants with over twice the incidence rate of leukemia. The average age at diagnosis is two years old. In 70% of these cases, the children are already at Stage IV high risk with a metastasis throughout the body. The survival rate is about 30%.
Currently only 4% of funding for cancer research in the United States is dedicated to pediatric cancer.
